Apostle Curtis Louis was born September 7, 1957 in Newton, Ms. After the death of his mother, at 9 yrs. old, his family moved to Hardwood, La., and later to Baton Rouge, LA., when he was about 15 years old, a move which would produce negative results. For it was there, in Baton Rouge that he began participation in gang activity and other things that put his life on a downward spiral; nevertheless, God was faithful. So after nearly losing his life on 3 different occasions and the untimely death of his father, Apostle Curtis Louis began to seek God for help. In 1979, God told Apostle Louis in a dream to move to Houston, TX., where he met the Lord Jesus Christ on March 4, 1980. A year later, he was called into the ministry and began preaching in different venues throughout the city. He has attended the Southside Theological Seminary, Lakewood Bible Institute, and Bible Teachers International School of Ministry. Then in 1987, the Lord called him back to Baton Rouge for ministry and later to legally establish the ministry that began on the streets of Houston, TX: Someone Cares Ministry Center Church Inc. He then won all of his siblings to Christ, preached on three radio stations, served as pastor of the Little Zion Baptist Church for seven years, as well as worked with some of the most influential churches in the city. Then, as God would have it, in August of 2007, Apostle Louis heard the voice of the Lord instructing him to ‘sell what you have, move back to Houston and follow me.’ He then returned to Houston, TX; and as the Lord opened doors, he was ready with a word of revival, reformation, restoration, and unity for the body of Christ, as Father confirms His word with signs following. Apostle Louis’ ministry has extended once again to Louisiana and to the uttermost parts of the world. He is also married to the lovely Melva Louis and is the father of 4 sons and 3 daughters. As he is allowed to minister today, he comes with a message of the love of God, unity and caring for all the world and every creature.
First Lady Melva Louis is wife to Apostle Curtis Louis of Someone Cares Ministry and was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She is a licensed minister of the Gospel and PK (Pastor's kid) from a musical family, who gave her heart to the Lord at 13 yrs old; and from that time on she has fallen more and more in love with Him every day that she lives! She grew up with her brothers and sisters watching their parents, Pastor Miller M. Harp Sr., and First Lady Imogene J. Harp, work in ministry together, so this life feels very normal to her. However since the day she gave her life to the Lord, even at at that young age, ministry has been what she has always been involved in and it has been the deepest desire of her heart. So at this point in her life in ministry, well she said it best in her own words - she is living the dream!
